He even has the green feet to prove it. For those of you who don't have grass to mow, allow me to explain. For some reason, the cut grass will turn your feet green. Just like getting a grass stain from falling down and sliding in the grass (which happens when an untrained dog who weighs more than you pulls you off your feet and drags you across the yard to make new friends...not that I know from personal experience...since Remi would never do such a thing to me...), it's the same concept. So when I got home from PetSmart last Saturday, I found this:
And I immediately thought "oh, it's too bad that St. Patrick's Day is over!" Then I went and got my camera and took a few photos.
Yep, all four feet are now green.
Of course, it doesn't keep him from doing anything important. He just looks kind of silly to me.
I do love this dog. But for those of you who have suggested that perhaps I might keep him, all I can say is no, No, and NO! Did that sound too emphatic? I just want to be clear. I am very eager for someone else to discover the joy and the trauma that Ziggy will bring to their life. I have too many other deaf dogs to help, and Noelle already took my only available "forever dog" spot. So as much as I appreciate Ziggy for constantly providing me with blog material, I will be very happy once he finds his forever home.

Green feet - so au currant. Green is the new cool color. Maybe advertising him as an eco-safe dog will help him find a forever home.

Ziggie looks grrreat with green feets. I would have loved to see him "Helping" with the mowing. He is not only helpful, he is BRAVE. I stay very much far away from dad's furend John the Deere.
I love the green feet. Maybe he felt the need to add a little flare to his coloring?
Oh my! Green feet! I have never had a white dog before so that is what happens....
Oh my...that is just so hilarious...hehehe! Good idea for easter eggs.
I can't believe missed all the other posts. I gotta go back and read them.
He looks quite fashionable. At least it is a nice green color rather than the brown grime that's everywhere in Chicago.
Haha! He looks like he stepped in green paints! He's sooooo very much cute! I help my dad mow, too, but I do that by munching on the grass so that it stays short. Well, in certain spots anyways.

I have always like this dude... the unique signature patch on the eye, his dances, his tobacco addiction coupled with alcoholic issues and now with green feet... what else?

hahahah that's so funny. Its like he is turning into the incredible HULK!
Woof! Woof! Oh! My ... GREEN FEET You're sure HELPING??? Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
I was telling my vet tech daughter about Ziggy and she can't believe no one will adopt him either. If he lived close to us we'd snap him up! As it is, she brought a 13week old pitty puppy to my apartment last night that she's helping to foster. He was mauled by a pregnant pit bull and is recovering from his wounds. He suffered head injuries and due to throat damage he grunts like a pig. He's very calm and sweet yet no one wants him!
Thanks to Ontario's stupid BSL I can't adopt any pit bulls or even mixes that could possibly even resemble a pit bull. But we have been working hard to get this re-appealed, and a new bill for stricter dangerous dog laws has been introduced with no breed specifics.
If poor Ziggy is still needed a home by and this new law gets passed sooner rather then later, I will be on my way to get him right away!
ps. I love his green paws they would match one of my roommates bedrooms haha
I can't believe you would give up a dog with green feet! :)
Is Ziggy a green dog? An environmentalist? BOL I hear you. I'm just grateful for what you do for all of us including Ziggy (btw the two new fosters, Rachel and Kirsten look adorable). I hope you find a forever home for him soon, although we'll miss the blogging material ;)
Twinkie
My boy, who is white like Ziggy, got a hold of a yellow high-lighter. A rarity, mind you. For some reason, yellow highlighters are THE TREAT of the century for my boy. So instead of green, picture fluorescent yellow that won't come off for DAYS. Being a particular dog about cleanliness, he didn't like yellow paws. Good thing he couldn't see his muzzle.
I think Ziggy looks adorable with is green socks.
well obviously ziggy was snoopervising the grass cutting

It would be lovely if Ziggy could find his perfect home. We feel for little Ebony as it will need to be the right home for her. Brenda wants to keep her, and I would love to but then I would not foster any more so she has to go. I am taking her to see someone tomorrow so fingers crossed.
i looove ziggy's feetsies! heehee! it looks like he went paw painting.
*woof*
the booker man
When we used to have a lawn and green grass, our corgis would always end up with green feet whenever we would mow it. They DO look funny, don't they.
sooooo cute!!! so nice of him to help. i love his green paaws, he looks very eco-friendly.
Green feets are the best! We likes helping our people!
Wags!

awwww look at those green paws! aren't they just adorable! Ziggy you are such a good boy for helping with the mowing :).
I bet those green feet will be a real hit at the next meet and greet. I get green feet too but it only shows on the bottoms.
Hey! I loved your comment on my last post about not posting. Most refreshing.

Oh Ziggy looks so cute! And of course you know my soft spot for him and that cute face! I just know that the perfect forever home will come along, and until then at least he has the perfect foster home to enjoy (and turn green at).
LAURIE! This is the first time I have ever heard you say "no".
I feel you pain about wanting to keep him...its hard. gotta enjoy the fun times and green feet while they last. BOL
