This is what it looks like today:
It is the dogs' favorite toy. They demonstrated how to use the Romp-N-Roll during their morning play session.
Noelle started out with the ball, but quickly ran into a much bigger opponent.
Remi tried to take the ball away, but Noelle refused to relenquish possession so easily.
Ziggy decided to get in on the action.
Somehow Ziggy outmanuvered the other two dogs and came away with the ball, with Remi and Noelle in hot pursuit.
On the sidelines, the photographer placed bets (with herself since no one else was around) on who would ultimately gain possession of the ball.
Remi tried barking as a distraction technique, but since his competitors are both deaf, it had no effect.
Resigned to the temporary loss of his favorite toy, Remi gave up and left the playing field.
But with typical terrier determination, Noelle and Ziggy continued to tug.
And tug.
And tug.
And tug some more.
Until finally the photographer got tired of waiting for a winner and left the playing field. At which time Ziggy and Noelle both dropped the toy and ran to follow the photographer. It's a good feeling to be more popular than a Romp-N-Roll.

Wow that was better then any football game! How fun it must be to watch them play! And poor Remi - it sucks to loose your favorite toy!
That is such a great toy! We used to have one, but the rope came out and we haven't seen it again. I love how the "white twins" gang up on Remi.
This was grrrreat fun. Hey, you have grass. Care to send me some???
its a wonderful feeling to be more popular. I think my pups would destroy one of those!
I have one of those toys too, but I am only interested in it if peewee happens to pick it up.
Slobbers,

Considering the combined jaw strength, that is one heck of a toy to last a year. Must get one! :)

aww.... poor remi!! he looks so sad in that last photo of him.. he's gotta try harder!! so cute.
Well that romp and roll ball was well worth buying to stand a year of such treatment.
What a great post! It was great play-by-play, and we really enjoyed your commentary!
Thanks so much for visiting our blog and the welcome to the Naughty Kitty Club! We are very pleased to meet you! Our Mom and Dad also volunteer for an animal rescue group in our area, so we really enjoy reading your blog as we can truly relate!
By the way, Mom's sister and brother-in-law live in Columbia MO! They moved there in July 2008 for Uncle Chris's job at Mizzou. Mom and Dad helped them move, as they have 4 cats and a woofie. Mom blogged about the move on Dad's blog, which you can find from ours.
