Casey was Adopted!... and other news

My foster dog Casey was adopted last night.  I got an update from his new mom within a few hours. She reported that Casey quickly settled in after checking out his new home, and he just as quickly made friends with the resident feline.  The cat's name is Noel, and she is 17 years old!  It appears that she is quite friendly with Casey.
Unless of course the cat is just pretending to like Casey so she can trick him into some sort of mischief later.  You can never really tell with cats.

I felt immediately comfortable with his new mom.  She has a lot of experience with animals, and spoils her pets like crazy.  I think Casey is one very lucky dog, and I am so happy for him.  I knew it was going to be extra hard to let him go, but I feel great about this adoption and couldn't ask for a better home.

In other exciting news, I do believe that Mira the kitten is making a full recovery, and is going to grow up to be a perfect candidate for the Naughty Kitty Club.  This is partly my fault - I have been spoiling her and granting her every wish, and she has become a bit too accustomed to this treatment.  Dry food is no longer palatable - now it must be the premium canned food to be worth her while.  The food should be given as soon as she is hungry - no waiting for specific meal times.  Play time must come several times a day, and any delays will result in a lot of meowing and complaining.  Affection must be given whenever requested, and will be rewarded with loud purrs.  Cuddle time is required before bed, and is also rewarded with loud purrs.  Overall, she's doing great and I am happy to spoil her for as long as I can - I am just so grateful to have her here.

Last night I also met with some friends for dinner, and we discussed the most recent breakthroughs in particle physics... oh no, wait.  That's not right. We mostly discussed animals, and I explained about Noelle's Vanishing Spot Disease, and how sometimes I live in my own reality (where I discuss things like particle phsyics and I diagnose fake dog diseases like vanishing spot disease).  I'm not sure why they put up with me, but I'm glad they do.  Noelle's spots have not reappeared, so it is still a mystery as to what caused them in the first place.  Although I think it might have something to do with particle physics.

So glad to hear that Casey got a great home and Myra is recovering. I'm sure much of it has to do with their wonderful foster mama! It was great to hang out last night, and thank you for educating me about the dangers of "Vanishing Spot Disease". I sure hope my fur-kids don't come down with it! Sounds horrendous. :)

Mira deverves to get spoiled for sure! Being through what she has I'm sure she is just soaking up life and enjoying all that she can.

The kitteh brothers and sister that live here are quite demanding too! They will eat dry food but they stomp their little paws and meow up a storm. They have dad wrapped around their little finger. Mom tells dad's cats she's the evil stepmother and won't feed then on command, but when they actually need to be fed. :-D

Well, I am more into the theoretical physics myself but partical physics sounds like a good explaination to me. And that is great that Casey found such a great home - and it sounds like you will get some good updates, considering you got one within hours of him leaving!

And we are all ready for Mira at the NKC - just forward a cute pic and she will bel all set! Since Noelle is already in she is all set (of course being naughty myself the actual badge would probably get there after she is adopted!)

Yippee for Casey! And I'm so very much glad that he has ANOTHER sister named Noel (even if she spells it wrong...BOL).

I'm Most Happy that Noelle's mystery spots went away. Are you sure she didn't draw them on to gets attention?

And I can't even begins to tell you all the joy I feels that little Mira is feeling good and enjoying life and being spoiled. I'm pretty sure that's what kittehs expect anyway, no matter what - to be spoiled.

Just got through reading every post about Casey. May I introduce myself. I'm Casey's new mom. He is in a Forever Home. Casey is my 8th dog in 40 yrs. I've had experiece with every kind of dog temperment, from ones I've had to constantly step over to ones that I had to watch at all times. I'm a retired animal technician (large animals). As far as Casey goes..."Good things come to those who wait". I casually started looking for my new companion in January. Found what I was waiting for. Casey fit my bill, we both have metal in our legs and a litte age on us. Although I've only had him a few days we have bonded. He loves it here and obeys commands very well. He is well behaved but likes to jump up on me and we are working on that. I'm only human and may not see all the way to his soul, but my cat has. She has taken to him like he has lived here forever. I cautiously watched as the cat stuck her head near his food bowl to see what he was eating. Not likeing the smell she left. Casey kept on eating. My nights are spend with both of them on my bed. We will be fine, each day I am getting closer to his soul through those beautiful brown eyes and I can see him searching for mine. We will grow old together, I have never given up on an animal. If you like the fact that I have a 17 yr old cat, one of my cats made it to 19.5 yr and I had a 32 yr old horse. I do take very good care of my pets.

Casey was one of the fosters in All Paws with whom I felt very connected. It was something about his eyes ...he has a beautiful soul. Laurie let me come and say goodbye to Casey. That was hard. But Laurie's hard work has paid off. Casey's new mom is a wonderful person. It sounds like he will be so very happy. And seeing the picture of him with the kitty...well need we say more? hehe

Love you Casey! Wishing you the best with your new momma!
