Sad news...

Just like Puzzles Puddles, I have my own evil neighbors. They have been badgering the subdivision board to enforce the only two pets per house rule. Of course, many people in our subdivision have more than two pets, but they don't live next to our evil neighbors. So we've been told we have sixty days to get down to only two pets, including both dogs and cats. So I can give up Remi, or Noelle, or Merlin. Or I can move. Guess which one I've decided on.

I don't want to give up any of my animals, and I don't want to keep Merlin locked away in the basement or a windowless room so our neighbors won't notice him sitting in the window. I also don't want to give up fostering, and I don't want to send Ziggy away (until he finds a permanent adoptive home - then, he's outta here!)  Since I'm going to be busy packing and house hunting over the next several weeks, I hope you will be patient and forgive me for not posting very often or for not visiting your blogs. I will try to share some new posts as I can, and will probably re-post a few old posts just so you don't stop visiting and forget about me!

I think Ziggy is also worried you will forget about him...

or maybe he's just embarrassed to be wearing a pink leash.

Wow that totally sucks! I hate jerk neighbors - we had one at my dad's house. I wish that I could help you out and tell you of a great place that no jerk neighbors were, but I don't think they exist. But we are sending you lots of good luck purrs and keeping our fingers and paws crossed you find a place quickly. And hopefully it will be an even better place, and the neighbors are awesome!

I do not blame you in the least. I would move too!!!
We will miss you while you are searching and packing and etc. BUTT we will also be supporting your decision!!!!

You are very right to move, but also admirable because moving is expensive and a lot of trouble. But really, what's the point of having your own house if you can't decide for yourself how to live, at least withing reasonable limits? There are three of us and that's probably the smallest number that the humans in this house have ever had. I mean, if you're going to have those limits you might as well live in an apartment and never have to mow the lawn.

We certainly won't forget Ziggy and will be waiting as patiently as possible for his further adventures.

best of luck with the move,

Lola

GRRRR! Well, I'll be thinking of you and fam as you search for new, less restrictive digs. ={ What a hassle though...the things we do for the animals we care about, huh?! Bless your heart a thousand times over Laurie. =)

Dear Dog Foster Mom,

I would like you to know that you're my hero. Truly and seriously. What a very good person you are! And I hopes that that bad neighbor gets an infestation of FLEAS to pay them back for being such yucky people.

Please tell Ziggy that we could never, ever in a million trillion years forget abouts him! And tell him he's even MORE unforgettable with that pink leash on. Maybe you could paints his toenails, too!

I hope you find the best, most wonderful place EVER next to the most best neighbors ever! If you have any cheese you needs to get rid of - you know, just to lighten your load - I'm here for you.

Wiggles & Wags from me and BIG hugs from my mom,
Mayzie

Wow.Some people's lives are so small, all they have to do with their time, is observe other people's full, big lives and figure out how to diminish them.Sad.

I believe you will find a wonderful, beautiful new home with the perfect setting to raise your babies and to continue fostering. It's out there and so are the wonderful , new neighbours you will meet.

Moving is a big decision and it sucks when nasty, small minded, pathetic people push you to make that decision. The best condolences is knowing you will find a much better home, far away from them. Good luck!

May the fleas of a thousand camels infest the evil neighbor's armpits! They must have empty lives to pick on someone who is clearly so kind and generous and gives the less fortunate a chance at a better life. And the subdivision rule is stupid too, bet there's no rule against how many kids you can have!
You ROCK for doing so much for the homeless and good luck in the house hunting, Mom and Dad say they'd do the same.

Grins and Kisses,
Ying and Yang

pee ess. we can't wait to hear more about Ziggy when you get the chance...he's sooo handsome (tee hee, blush, blush)

We too think it's so admirable that you didn't even give a second thought to stop fostering, but are doing the hard and expensive thing by moving. We really are so lucky to have such devoted people like you helping the animals.

I am so sorry you have to deal with that kind of neighbors! They need to get a life and leave alone you!
I wish you the best. I am sure you are going to find a great place for you and all your furkids!
There is now way we could forget Ziggy! No way!
Take care

Oh no! People just SUCK sometimes. I think I'll send Betty and Rini over to your neighbors to rip some righteous farts so they'll feel the need to move.

How could we ever forget Ziggy? Not a chance! We love him, and his pink leash.

Love,

It's always something!

Hopefully their next neighbors will have a million screaming kids to help them see the error of their ways.

I've been thinking about the fact that I don't know a single neighbor, and felt like maybe we were missing out on something. I'm sorry you need to go through such drama just to do a little community service. It probably took some coaxing from your husband to convince him to more, but what you're doing is highly commendable. I wish you the best of luck in your house hunting.

How sad that you have to give up your home to continue your good work! Creepy neighbors. Can't they see the good in what you do? Well, no, obviously not.

Tell Ziggy that there's no way we can forget his beautiful mug! We'll wait until you're settled, don't worry!

And I hope your neighbors know what karma is...

You have an amazing heart! So many people in our situation would be bringing there pets to the shelter! Some people can be so heartless and mean. Good Luck house hunting, hope it is not to painful. I would live in my car for my pets. Thanks for doing what you do.

You are amazing - that's all I can say. I sure hope karma takes a big bite out of your neighbor's butt. I especially like Ying & Yang's comment about the fleas... priceless! Let me know if I can help in any way with the move. Your fur-kids are very lucky to have such a wonderful mama!

Hiya! People like that should be put in a cage in a windowless cellar!!!!! Why is the world full of idiots!? And there is f**k all you can do... Ahhhhggggggrrrrr!!!!!

We admire your devotion and you should be a sample for all those people that give up animals because the situation becomes difficult. My mum says she would move too.

Is there no law/rule that makes an exception for foster people? Can't you collect signatures from other neighbours or something?!?

Paws crossed! Slobbers Teal'c from Sydney

I have a friend here that does Ridgeback Rescue here in CO that moved out into the country on 20 acres to get away from her awful neighbors! You are a true saint to make this sacrifice for your pets and your fosters. We firmly believe in karma. May your neighbors air conditioner go out when it's 100 with 100% humidity. I used to live in MO I know how appropriate that would be for them. :-)

Lots of extra special hugs!

I want to give you a BIG THANK YOU for the commitment you have to your foster pets. There are so many animals out there who need people like you to fight for them.

Ziggy is my type of dog! :-) He reminds me of my "Nikko", my companion for 15 wonderful years.

Visit my blog: Brooklynbooklover.blogspot.com and under the page titled "A Few of The Rescues That Came To Stay" you can see a picture of my beloved boy. Not a day goes by that I don't miss him. :-(
