The Cat with Too Many Names

Elwood, previously known as Lucas, previously known as Miracle, previously known as Trickster, has had a lot of names in the first few months of his life.  He started out with a temporary name of Trickster, because he would always be the first kitten to sneak out of the bedroom and climb a baby gate to get to the rest of the house.

Then he and his three siblings got sick, and the other three didn't make it.  He needed a miracle to survive, so I named him Miracle.
I called him Mira for short, because I thought he was a girl.  Then I found out he was a boy.  He forgave me but I thought Mira was not a good name for a boy cat.  So then I went on vacation and my cat-sitter named him Lucas.  And I liked that name, so that was his official name until he was adopted.
Then someone adopted him and named him Elwood.  It goes well with his brother's name which is Jake.  Here is Jake and Elwood.

They appear to be getting along quite well.  Now I hope he never has another new name again.

That's funny, by boss has two kittens, Jake and Elwood, though I think Jake ran off recently and may have fell victim to a coyote. :S

Maybe kitties don't mind having their names change so much since they know, in their deepest hearts, their true name is always "King." (Or "Queen.")

That is probably one of the cutest things I've seen in a while. :) How sweet are they!? So glad Elwood found his happily ever after! Paws crossed that more precious kitties/pooches have the same luck this fall.

Oh well, by any name Elwood is a cutie. And we are with you - we hope that Elwood is his final name (plus it really does fit him). He and Jake are so cute together!

Well I think this is just an adorable picture. Of course, I'm partial since Jake was my 13 month old foster and as sweet as they come. He immediately fell in love with Elwood.

I have a rather large orange tabby, and he too has undergone many name changes that has resulted in an identity crisis.

When we first rescued him, we named him Sneezing Larry (he sneezes all the time), then my brother decided he was more of a Phil. Then we all decided he was definitely a Derek. Unfortunately Derek is one of the largest domestic cats I have ever seen. So he is usually called Fat Cat. And due to his laid back attitude and all around awesome personality he is often referred to as The Dude.

Love the post!
