Update on my previous fosters

Tripoli has been adopted!  It took a lot longer than anyone expected, but finally after over a year in foster care, Tripoli has his permanent home!

Poky and Panda Bear have also both been adopted.  Both puppies are doing great in their new homes.  Also their four littermates have now also been adopted!

And then there is Ziggy.  Ziggy has started attending a beginning agility class.  He does very well because a) he has no fear of anything, b) he is very intelligent, c) he is very food motivated, and d) he has a very good instructor.  I was concerned about Ziggy being evicted from class due to his chewing problems, and sure enough during the very first class he tried several times to chew the instructor.  But she is very patient with him and has invited him to come back again next week.

I hope Ziggy can control himself at agility. It should be a great class for him to use his energy and intellect.

Yeah for Tripoli! Ziggy is sounding like that girl on My So Called Life who had an issue with always needing to have something in her mouth all the time--I guess Ziggy has a chewing fixation. Whoever does adopt him, will have one stellar, agile dog.

Yea for Tripoli and the pups!
I still think I love Ziggy's energy the most... but maybe that's because Im observing him from a distance. He is such a cutie though!

Oh, this is a Most Wonderful update! I'm so very much glad for the doggies that got homes. And I'm really super glad that Ziggy didn't get kicked out of agilities. I think it'll be good training for when he gets adopted by that circus family.

That is awesome news about Tripoli and the puppies. Agility sounds like a great outlet for some of Ziggy's energy just like putting children in sports it should tire him out and make him happy.

Hi Laurie--

Thanks for providing the updates. It must be really exciting when you're able to place foster animals in good homes. Ziggy's time will come!

BTW, I've awarded you a Doggie Bloggie award. Pick it up (and find out the rules) at http://somethingwagging.wordpress.com/2010/09/29/thanks-sage-for-the-doggie-bloggie-award/.

And thank you for writing an amusing and touching blog.

Thanks for following our blog. I've been looking back about Ziggy and I am very impressed with the use of the light for training him. I am fascinated with people who learn how to work with deaf dogs. Like all dogs, they are just as amazing. Love what you are doing with him.
