Ziggy Helps Himself

One thing I love about dogs is how they live in the moment, and they have such enthusiasm for life.  Ziggy especially can find joy in everything.  He also seems to live by the motto "Carpe Diem", or "Seize the Day".  And while he's at it, he likes to seize anything and everything else.  For example..

I made the mistake of leaving some treats on the counter while turning my back.

Ziggy immediately decided that was an invitation to help himself.

And then he ran into the living room with his prize.

Fortunately Ziggy has not yet learned to successfully play "keep away" when he has something he knows he shouldn't have.  Instead he always runs to the futon and waits for me.  This gives me the opportunity to easily take things away from him (by trading him for something he wants more!)  In this case, I decided that this was such a classic "Ziggy" event that I needed to allow him to do the same thing a second time while I took pictures.  Training versus Blogging... sometimes sacrifices must be made.

I was wondering how you were quick enough to get the pictures! :)

I set Stumpy up to capture her sneaky self on video, not too long ago. Funny stuff! Even after being busted, TWICE, she'd do it again in a heartbeat for a treat.

Oh Ziggy don't you know you have been set up! Sophie likes to be sneaky and jump from the chair to the table and then walk around looking for food. Naughty Naughty pups, I think they would get along great thinking up all kinds of bad things. How is it that Remi and Noelle arn't led astray?

Fudge is like that. When he steals something he's so proud of himself that he walks back and forth in front of me humming to get my attention.

You're right about that training versus blogging thing.

Ziggy, you've got to learn how to use your powers for good. Dogs who fetch beers out of the fridge for their people end up on TV commercials, not just blogs!

Oh we have missed seeing you all, and especially seeing what Ziggy is up to! If it makes you feel any better, the cats have been known to do the exact same thing at our house - but they are better at the keep away part!

Oh he's learning really well! I love to take stuff off counters too, and often get a bite or a lick before the Mum and Dad know it. But they don't mind, they say I'm cute!

Way cools you are a foster Mum. My Mum used to be my foster Mum but then she kept me!

I recently posted about Claire doing something similar - but it involved her prying open the refrigerator door to get what she wanted!! They are so cute but so crazy haha!
