Kermit was adopted; Introducing Riley

My foster dog Kermit was adopted yesterday!  He went home with a very nice young couple, and I really think this will be his forever home.  His new mom and dad lost their dog six months ago, and now that they're ready for a new pet, they've been anxiously looking online to find just the right dog.  His mom said she saw Kermit online and realized he was the one, and she couldn't wait to meet him.  His balance issues didn't scare them off, and they even have a cat with a similar problem!  So thank you to this amazing couple who was willing to look past his issue and fall in love with him.  I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Kermit wasn't here long, but we had some great times while he was here.  Here are a few photos of some of my favorite memories of Kermit.

He loved to be outside.   He would go out in the (slightly muddy) yard and gallop around in his silly Kermit gait, and then lie down by the fence and just watch everything going on in the world around him.  Mango would say he was meditating, I think.

He also drank a lot.  Maybe it was all the meditating that made him thirsty, I'm not sure.  But it seemed I was always refilling his water bowls (both inside and out), and he was always first in line to get some fresh cold water.  He made Remi and the other dogs wait in line!

And then of course there was the slobber and Kermit Kisses.  He would have been great at a doggie kissing booth, I think.  You'll notice that I've learned to keep my mouth closed when being kissed by a dog.  Its just better that way.

After Kermit left, I had about a five hour break before my next foster dog arrived.  Her name is Riley, and she's a Jack Russell/Beagle mix.  Its hard to tell from her picture, but she is very small. She's about a year old, and so sweet.  Right now she's curled up at my feet, sleeping.  And snoring.  I think I am in love.

I take no credit for Kermit getting adopted - he was seen online and I hope would have been adopted whether I had him at my house or not. I'm just glad he got a wonderful home, and I'm glad I was given the chance to foster him until he found that home. He is a great dog and deserves all the love and affection that anyone is willing to give him.

Incidentally, I received two applications on Riley today. She's been on the website for awhile, and I have done nothing to help her get a home, but it appears I may not have her very long either. Why do my foster dogs get adopted so quickly but my cats take so long? I will have to think about this.

Yay for Kermit! And Wow, I didn't realize how big he was - but next to Remi you get a good idea! I am so happy he found a great home!

And oh am I in love with Riley! She is such a cutie! I am not surprised there are applications for her already!
