Tripoli - Superhero in Disguise?

Faster than a speeding Remi...

more powerful than a pit bull named Noelle...

and able to leap small vehicles in a single bound....(or not)

It's Tripoli, the Tripawd Wonder Dog!

I continue to be impressed by how well Tripoli gets around. In fact, he has enjoyed wrestling and playing with the other dogs, and in spite of only having three legs, he usually wins their mock battles. It's a constant source of embarrassment for my husband, who is so proud of his tough girl Noelle, to see her constantly bested by a three-legged dog.

I recently learned of a website just for Tripawds (three-legged dogs) and their owners. It is a great resource for anyone who has a three legged dog, or is considering amputation as a way to treat canine osteosarcoma or other cancers. I especially enjoyed reading some of the comments submitted by readers as they shared how kids have reacted when seeing a Tripawd for the first time. You can read the comments here.

And here is a very short video of Tripoli in his alter-ego disguise (doing nothing much at all).

Who needs four legs when you have a tail like that?! Always happy to see more pics of your adorable fosters (and of course Remi and Noelle - go deaf pitties!).

Tripoli looks GREAT! We hope he finds a furever home very soon. Please let us know how he's doing, and remember to post his info on our Tripawds facebook page too so we can get the word out. This boy has so much to give, so much to teach the world. Thank you for doing what you're doing and giving him the chance.

You're so kind for telling the world about Tripawds, thanks, we really appreciate it.

Tripoli you are so awesome! We almost forgot about your three-leggedness when we were reading at first - because you are just like all the other doggies (and that is a great thing!)

That is amazing! I have to admit, I had all kinds of ideas about what dogs missing a leg might not be able to do, but he is incredible. And he has such a beautiful poofy tail.

I LOVE Tripoli! Seriously, if I could have a dog (without being divorced), he would be the one hands down. I almost snuck off with him in my coat on Sat, but I don't think I could hide that big fluffy tail! I still think he's part Maine Coon... a Maine Coon dog to be exact. :)

Tripoli looks like a fantastic dog. It is so amazing that dogs can do just fine with three legs--we've had a tripawd Australian Shepherd and a couple Labs come through the Shelter and they had the best attitudes!
